First Big Election in 2008

The election tamasha in Karnataka has its own effect on people of Karnataka, but unlike other times this is turning out to be one of the most peaceful elections in the state with no cut outs and speakers on the roads.

The election has brought a tinge of happiness in the eyes of the people because of the Rapid development works in the state .With the shuffle of ministers and one shifting parties and constituencies due to various reasons, Ministers seem to be doing a bit of good for the state.

I just hope at least one single party gets a majority to develop the state. Opinion polls suggest the return of S.M. Krishna back to state politics may give an edge for congress over BJP, JDS and SP but they are not far behind the CM Seat. We will have to wait for less than a month to know the fate of Karnataka’s cabinet.

IPL is the WORD!!!!

With the down fall of Hockey due to a miserable performance in the Olympic qualifiers and sacking of senior board members from Indian Hockey association Cricket-ainment seems to be the word all over India for a few weeks atleast. Going as favourites to the tournament were Deccan Chargers from Hyderabad with the betting industry giving a green signal to them and a big Red flag to the Rajasthan royals and Bangalore Royal challengers. As of today except Chennai super kings no one seems to be consistent in the performance.

With the Harbhajan(Mumbai Indians)-Sreesanth(Kings XI Punjab) controversy and the cheer leaders controversy IPL has lead to the Destruction of Test and one day cricket in India’s youth. All cricket boards asking a window for IPL and ECB regretting for objecting Players IPL has its own Fan following mixed with the fan following from Business, Bollywood sector too and has made a mark of its own in Cricket, though the generation of Test and One day is not so easy to end.

While the ICL created a bit of hoop la around the country, the fantastic money Making BCCI has done its bit to overshadow ICL.

With still half the tournament to go around there seems to be a shift in winning to loss ratio for teams as the Australians will be leaving for the Caribbean and New Zealand to England as the performers for all the teams have been more from Australia or New Zealand
